NGW Trash Results!!

The results are in for the waste-free snack & lunch challenge that took place during National Green Week! The total trash reduced equated to over 100,000 lbs!! Students accomplished this monumental task by simply carrying their drinks, snacks and lunches in reusable containers for one week! In total over 400,000 students participated at over 900 schools in green lessons & activities during National Green Week. Learn more….

United Nations environmental program report estimated that there are over 46,000 pieces of plastic debris floating on or near the surface of every square mile of ocean. According to Greenpeace, this has created a floating island of garbage that contains an estimated six kilos of plastic for every kilo of plankton in the Pacific Ocean. This floating island is estimated to be larger than the state of Texas.
